The Bazaar Mosque

This traditional house is a good example of Albanian architecture and played an important role in the history of education in Prishtina, during the period when violent measures were imposed by the occupying Serbia. The house served as a school for students of Prishtina and still bears the marks of bullets from the attack by Serbia’s military-police machinery.

It is an important symbol of Ottoman history in Prishtina and a landmark in the city. The mosque has undergone several renovations over the centuries but still retains many of its original features.
